About Us
Bedford has created a brighter future for people with a disability since 1945 by providing work, training, accommodation and other life opportunities.
To this day, empowering people with a disability or disadvantage remains our key goal.
We provide training, employment, recreational activities and accommodation services for more than 1,650 South Australians with a disability or disadvantage and are a recognised leader in the provision of disability services nationally.
We have taken up the challenge to become a truly state-wide service. In 2007 we merged with Career Systems in metropolitan Adelaide, Mount Barker and Murray Bridge, Living Skills in Port Pirie, Kadina and Wallaroo, and early in 2008, Gambier Contracts in Mount Gambier and Compass in Port Lincoln.
Bedford is an organisation proud of its achievements and ethos. Our vision is to lead the way in services for people with a disability, and our purpose is to provide opportunities and support for people with a disability to achieve their goals and fulfil their potential.
Our services equip people with the skills necessary to participate in employment and to live independently. We offer internal employment opportunities, community based employment support, accommodation services and are the number one provider of accredited vocational and life-skills training.
We have also recently established day option programmes providing non-vocational activities for people with high support needs.
