Balyana Accommodation
Balyana is home to nearly 100 people with a disability and provides a range of supported accommodation and housing options to suit a variety of needs. Situated in picturesque grounds at Clapham in Adelaide, Balyana continues to be pivotal in equipping people with the life skills needed to make decisions on how and where they want to live.
Accommodation is in the form of individual rooms, or in one of the eight houses around the property. Each individual room is fully furnished and breakfast and dinner is provided in a communal dining room. Residents may also receive training from skilled and qualified trainers and carers in Balyana's transitional house, thereby learning to become more independent and acquire the skills and confidence to live in share accommodation. Share houses at Balyana cater for two to six people. Each person has their own room and shares the facilities with the other residents, as well as being required to cook meals on a rotational basis. Residents who wish to move into accommodation in the community are also encouraged and assisted as part of the residential service programme. Balyana can also help residents address areas such as:
