Homes For 100
People with a disability often have difficulty living independently within the community.
Bedford Housing’s life skills training programme helps residents gain the confidence, skills and knowledge necessary to achieve this goal.
At present 53 people are supported through Bedford community based housing options.
Bedford also aims to address the pressing need for independent, community based housing options for people with a disability, through the ‘Homes for 100’ programme. The programme is the result of a partnership with the South Australian Government.
The project is the result of a one-off $5 million grant from the State Government announced in February 2006. To help with this task Bedford has revived its specialised fundraising arm, the Foundation Board, with a dynamic mix of young Adelaide business names brainstorming innovative fundraising activities. In addition to funds donated and rasied to date, The Foundation Board has been tasked with raising the balance of funds to create a $10 million dollar project.
