Day Options Programmes
Day Options programmes offer a wide variety of recreational, leisure and developmental activities for people with moderate to high support needs who are not ready or are unable to enter the workforce.
Day Options is also a transitional programme for people who need additional training & development before moving into supported employment. The transition to supported employment is tailored to individual needs. Members of the programme undertake ‘hands on’ skills development activities, training, work experience and, when ready, are placed in one of Bedford’s businesses.
Bedford Community Access (BCA) - Panorama
BCA provides Day Option programmes for 32 members. The aim of BCA is to provide learning pathways to meet the needs and goals of each individual. BCA provides a safe and stimulating environment for people with severe and multiple disabilities ensuring they can reach their potential.
Activities include swimming, computer skills, scrap booking, bowling, walking on various tracks, horse riding, cooking, shopping, theatre, dual bikes, art and craft.
Wallaroo Community Garden - Wallaroo
Wallaroo Community Garden provides Day Option programmes for 23 members. Based in Wallaroo and serving the regional community, the programme offers clients a variety of activities including propagating and maintaining the garden, tending to the animals on site, craft, painting and other outdoor activities.
Living Skills Centre - Port Pirie
Based at Port Pirie, the service offers Day Option programmes to 17 members plus another 15 in respite and other development programmes.
