The Job Ready Programme
The Job Ready Programme helps people with a disability who are new to the work place. It provides assistance with workplace orientation, skills development, work ‘hardening’ and individual issues such as transport to and from work and time management. The programme runs for a 10 week period.
This programme is hosted by APG (horticulture and grounds maintenance) who are contracted to carry out landscape maintenance work by many businesses and local councils throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area. APG employs over 160 people at its two depots at Lonsdale and Pooraka.
The Job Ready programme is also available with Bedford Furniture and Bedford Packaging at Panorama.
Job Ready programme participants undergo vocational training in horticulture, turf care, conservation and land management, grounds maintenance, lawn moving pruning and hedge trimming. Numbers are limited to 7 per training group to ensure quality delivery.
