Work Experience at Bedford

At Bedford, we believe that a job is more than just working. It is crucial in developing self-esteem, communication skills, friendships and providing a sense of purpose and financial independence.

We understand that entering the workforce for the first time can also be daunting and challenging. In response, Bedford offers work experience programmes where people can enter the work environment for a short period to orientate themselves and discover their own particular vocational preferences.

Currently, successful applicants can complete work experience with APG (horticulture and grounds maintenance), Bedford Packaging, Human Resources, Fundraising, Bedford Furniture and Bedford Hospitality & Balyana Conference Centre.

General conditions of the work experience programme require an application form be completed by the student, teacher or parent and that applicants:

A tour of the work place and an interview to discuss the period of work experience, hours of work, duties and conditions follows.

On completion of work experience a detailed report outlining potential opportunities and recommending a future course of action is prepared for the student and school.

A Bedford Recruitment Officer can explain in detail how the programme works and can organise tours of worksites for students, teachers and class groups.

Bedford is a great place to work. For more information and to receive a Work Experience Application Form contact The Recruitment Officer on (08) 8275 0211.
